MASHA is able to confirm that a fatal incident in the mining sector occurred near Madoc in Eastern Ontario, on August 20, 2008. One person was fatally injured while working underground. The incident is under investigation.
The purpose of this report is to deliver information as quickly
as possible. Details may therefore be at variance with the
official accident investigation report and the findings of
a coroner's jury.
